Will Moses Simon be Missed If Injury Knocks Him Out of Contention?

Writer: adeola bankoleadeola bankole

Moses Simon has grown to become one of the most senior members of this Super Eagles outfit.

But for the emergence and meteoric rise of Ademola Lookman, the left wing position of the team would have been Simon's personal property.

As it is, the Nantes winger has remained ever present and potent either as a super sub on the left or as a starting right winger, dumping Chukwueze to the bench.

Sadly, Simon's presence for the do-or-die World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe this month is thrown to doubt due to injury.

"His ankle is still hurting. There’s obviously some concern," said the Nantes coach this week.

For me, a huge Moses Simon fan, this is a blow. I pray he recovers on time for these encounters.

With Tella pulling out (again) and Iheanacho overlooked, options at the flanks will be light.

All eyes will then be on Coach Eric Chelle to repurpose other options like Aribo and Iwobi to fill the void.

If Moses Simon fails to shake off this injury, he will be missed.
