Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos, who are to remain in camp in preparation for the final rounds of qualifiers, will be gunning for appearing in a third straight world cup tournament.
These ladies have already done themselves proud by overcoming bitter tactical rivals South Africa across 2 legs to get here.
Now they face Algeria at home in the 1st leg on 19 April.
I will be watching it to see whether Coach Bankole has injected greater tactical sagacity to the team's method, approach and philosophy.
The team's game is bereft of flair and tactical variance but they are always businesslike in pursuit of their objectives with athletism and physicality.
This businesslike attitude should do the trick against Algeria across 2 legs. It is how they will perform at the world cup that worries me greatly.
North Korea, Japan, Spain are just some of the teams with highly developed tactical methods in under-17 women's football.
Will Coach Bankole prove to be in their league this time around?
