Ini Umotong starts in Brighton's loss

Playing from the start - having come off the bench in her team's last league match - was not enough to help Super Falcon's Finisher Ini Umotong find the back of the net as Brighton and Hove Albion women went down to a 1:0 defeat at a sun-beaten Madjeski stadium this weekend.

It was so hot on the field in the second half that the game was stopped to allow players to take water.

Rachel Furness scored the crucial Royals goal, smashing past Brighton goalkeeper after their defensive line failed to sufficiently clear a free-kick.

Reading moved up to fifth in the Women's Super League table with this 1-0 win while Brighton & Hove Albion stay rooted to eleventh position.

Twenty four year old Ini, who has been involved in Super Falcons assignments of late, is expected to be named in the preliminary squad for the world cup.

She was substituted in the 68th minute for Le Tissier.
