Super Falcons Captain Desire Oparanozie, who featured 90 minutes for her club in their last fixture against Soyaux in the French women's league, has indicated that the national team is heading on the right direction ahead of the women's world cup in June as outcome of recent games have been positive.
Speaking to the media after the 2:1 narrow friendly loss recently, the deadly finisher said: " (Although it) wasn’t the result we hoped for, but we keep working hard. Lots of positives to take away from this game."
Shortly after naming the ex-youth international as the captain of the team ahead of the world cup, Coach Dennerby said: "Oparanozie is disciplined and has good character, she is young and has a longer playing span in the team."
Having scored 7 goals thus far for Nigeria since Dennerby took over, Oparanozie shares the position of highest goal scorer under Dennerby's reign with Asisat Oshoala.
