Under-20 captain of Nigeria and regular left back Ikouwem Udoh is expected to receive stiff competition after his less-than-impressive outing in the recent Wafu tournament left the coaches with little option than to seek reinforcement in that role.
Udoh shot to prominence following his impressive displays for Eyimba in Cup competitions and Super Eagles B teams.
However, speculations reaching Afrofooty.com suggest that 19 year old Seattle Sounders left full back Ibrahim Usman has been handed a call up to the U-20 team of Nigeria who will resume training for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations shortly.
Usman, who joined the United States Major League team last year, made a total of 26 league appearances with four assists to his name and for now he is the only foreign base player expected to be in the squad despite not playing for the team in the qualifiers.
