According to a number of local media reports in Nigeria, The Super Falcons (female national team) have received 40,000 Euros from the France FA to contribute towards their expenses for the April 6 friendly in Le Mans, France.
The Falcons will be expected to purchase their return flight tickets in what is billed as a high profile friendly match.
The Nigeria Football Federation lived up to their promise in providing the female national team a foreign coach as well and this will be the first match for recently appointed Swedish coach of the Falcons, Thomas Dennerby, to line up his strongest squad against a top quality opposition at the world stage.
Disappointingly though, there has been reports of Falcon withdrawals, nonetheless, a decent team will still be expected to be on parade for Nigeria.
France will stage the next FIFA Women’s World Cup from June 7, 2019, and the Falcons' game is part of their build-up for this championship.
Nigeria, on their part, will be hoping to qualify for the tournament and also make a much better impact that their poor display at the last World Cup to which they failed to qualify for the knock out stages having lost 2 matches and drawn 1 in the group stage.
