Liverpool's Mo Salah on course to be highest goal scorer

World Cup bound Egyptian sharp-shooter Mohamed Salah is in pole position to be crowned the English Premiership's highest goal scorer for the 2017/18 league campaign following his one-man show against Watford yesterday 18 March.

The former Chelsea player, who had hitherto never scored a hat-trick in the league, smashed 4 goals into Watford's net as his team ran away 5:0 winners. Ever the team player, Salah also provided an assist in the match.

With England and Tottenham's Harry Kane sidelined having picked up an ankle injury at Bournemouth last weekend, Salah – who was level on 24 League goals with the Spurs man going into the weekend – now has 4 more goals than Harry (who is expected to miss a couple of games after the international break).

As Salah is having the season of his life, no one will bet against him adding more goals to his name which would all but dent Kane's chances of being crowned the golden boot winner for consecutive seasons.

Argentina and Man City's Aguero, who himself bagged four in one league outing earlier this season, trails behind in third with 21 goals to his name thus far. Unlike Kane, he may not win the top scorer award however, it is almost a forgone conclusion that the Aguero and his team mates will be the League Champions.
