Nigerian fans to wait a bit longer to see Super Falcons team "A" in action

Unfortunately for fans and other stakeholders, Super Falcons of Nigeria have withdrawn from a 12-nation tournament which kicks off in Turkey this week, citing visa issues.

They were scheduled to battle in Group B against Super power France, Kosovo and Kazakhstan from 26 February to 7 March as preparation for this year's Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers.

But the West Africans, who finished third at the regional WAFU Cup on Saturday 24 February, have withdrawn from the competition for logistical reasons.

It is reported that the short space of time between the conclusion of the WAFU women's cup and the commencement of the Turkey tournament created planning and administrative problems for the Nigerian Football Federation.

Fans of the Super Falcons of Nigeria who were hoping to see the full team of top foreign based professionals like Oparanozie, Ordega, Esther Sunday and Asisat Oshoala terrorize other teams will have to wait a bit longer.
