The goalkeepers available to the Super Eagles of at this time are all capable of manning the post for Nigeria at the World Cup, hence, no need to panic: according to the national team coach Gernot Rohr.
Illness to Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme last year and the unconvincing performances of his deputies in subsequent matches have left many fans anxious about the goalkeeping department of the Super Eagles going into the World Cup in June.
Dispelling this fear, Coach Rohr said on bbc.com: “Ikechukwu Ezenwa showed in big matches so far that he can be in goal. The young boy Uzoho had a great game against Argentina so I've sent the goalkeeper trainer to continue to provide support for this boy in Spain.
We are not limited as we also have other goalkeepers like Akpeyi, Ajiboye and Alampasu in the team, so I believe we are fine.”
Regarding the team as a whole, the coach said: “We have built a good environment for the team; all the players gave everything to secure the ticket to Russia.”
